TRAVEL CONNECTIVITY, EXPLAINED CLEARLY

How Taro Works: From Choosing to Using Your eSIM

Capabilities vary by plan. The exact product page remains the final source for included data, number, calling, SMS, coverage and activation conditions.

Content owner: TaroMobile Editorial & Support Team Reviewed:

Taro works in six stages: choose a destination, compare the exact plan capabilities, receive the eSIM details, install at the correct time, connect in the covered area and use the travel data or supported trip-number features.

1. Start with the destination and itinerary.

Search the All plans collection for the country or region you will visit. For a multi-country trip, check every country in the coverage list rather than assuming that a regional name covers the complete itinerary.

Choose the communication job before comparing price: data for apps, a temporary travel number for forms and supported callbacks, incoming calls, outgoing calls, or SMS.

2. Compare the product facts.

Coverage and network

Confirm every destination and whether the plan uses a destination network or a roaming structure.

Data

Check total or daily allowance, speed conditions, hotspot support and what happens after high-speed data is used.

Number, calls and SMS

Check number country, incoming calls, outgoing directions, included minutes and SMS limitations independently.

Timing

Check the installation window, activation trigger, validity period and any redemption deadline.

The product page is the final capability source. Taro's guides explain how to decide, but the selected product controls coverage, data, number, calls, SMS, activation and validity.

3. Receive and protect the eSIM details.

The delivery method and timing are stated in the selected product or order information. Keep the QR code, activation code and order details private. A QR code is generally intended for one installation and should not be posted, forwarded casually or scanned by another device.

If delivery timing is essential, verify it before purchase rather than relying on an unstated instant-delivery assumption.

4. Install at the correct time.

Installation adds the eSIM profile to the device. Activation starts the plan under its stated conditions. These are not always the same event: validity may begin at installation, redemption or the first eligible network connection.

  1. Confirm the exact phone model supports eSIM.
  2. Confirm the device is network-unlocked.
  3. Use a stable internet connection for the download.
  4. Follow the selected plan's timing instructions.
  5. Label the new line clearly, such as “Taro Travel”.
  6. Do not delete the eSIM while troubleshooting.

5. Connect when you reach the covered area.

Turn on the travel eSIM and select it for mobile data. Enable data roaming only when the product instructions require it. Leave network selection automatic unless a specific network is stated, and enter an APN only when exact APN details are supplied.

Check the roaming setting on the personal line separately to avoid unintended home-carrier charges. Dual-SIM behavior varies by device and carrier.

6. Use the trip number according to the plan.

If the plan includes a number, confirm which SIM line is selected before placing a call or sending a message. Ordinary mobile calls are different from calls made inside an app. Incoming, local outgoing and international allowances may differ.

SMS support does not guarantee bank codes, platform verification messages or short-code texts. Rely on a message only when the product information and the sender's own rules support that use.

What happens when the plan expires?

Data, calls, SMS and the temporary number stop according to the plan's validity rules. Later calls or messages to an expired travel number no longer reach you. Do not present the number as a permanent contact after the active period.

If the eSIM does not connect.

  1. Confirm that you are inside the eligible coverage area.
  2. Confirm that the travel line is enabled and selected for mobile data.
  3. Recheck data-roaming, APN and network-selection instructions.
  4. Toggle airplane mode or restart the device once.
  5. Keep the installed profile; do not delete it.
  6. Contact support with destination, exact device model, order number and the message shown on screen.

Frequently asked questions

Can I install before departure?

Only when the selected plan's installation window and activation trigger allow it.

Can I keep my personal SIM active?

Many dual-SIM phones allow it, but settings, carrier behavior and possible roaming charges must be checked on the device.

Should data roaming be on?

Follow the selected plan's instructions. Many travel eSIMs require it, while the personal line may need roaming turned off.

Can I reinstall a deleted eSIM?

Do not assume that you can. Contact support before deleting any installed profile.
